Walk home from the Athens Concert Hall

The awkward part of an evening at the Megaro is not the concert. It is the forty minutes afterwards — the taxi queue on Vasilissis Sofias, the arithmetic about the last metro, the ride back to wherever you are staying. From here the walk home is 600 metres.
The metro station is named after the hall and sits about 700 metres from the flat, so the rest of the city stays open to you before a performance — the Acropolis is roughly ten minutes down the line, and the Museum of Cycladic Art and the Benaki are both under two kilometres.
Afterwards there is a terrace, which is the argument for this flat over a hotel room at the same price. Twenty-five square metres of it, with lounge seating and a table for four, above the city lights. It is a better place to finish an argument about a performance than a hotel bar.
In summer the Lycabettus Theatre is 1.2 km away and the hill itself 1.3 km, so a festival week works from the same base. Guests have written about the bars and restaurants a couple of streets away.
